THE ROLEAs a Beauty Editor, you are the ultimate Violet Grey brand ambassador. You render best-in-class service with the utmost savoir faire, grace, and respect to all clients in a stylish boutique. Knowing that your role goes beyond completing a transaction, you employ a broad skillset to build and support a thriving retail business - you connect with, engage, develop and retain clients by uncovering their needs, recommending product, following-up to ensure satisfaction, keeping them stocked in their must-haves and notifying them of new launches.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Understands the unique position of Violet Grey as The Industry’s Beauty Edit and knows its heritage
  • Conducts business activities in a manner befitting an intimate retail space
  • Fosters teamwork, diplomacy and professionalism with boutique staff, corporate and brand partners, The Committee, friends of Violet Grey and the Melrose business community Contributes to building the business by achieving sales goals and hitting key metrics
  • Leverages products, promotions, services and data capture to recruit and loyalize clientele
  • Commands a proficient knowledge of brands and product offerings and their points of difference
  • Attends vendor trainings to stay abreast of new launches and to refresh base knowledge
  • Acts as steward of stock organization and tester hygiene and visual merchandising of both in the salon
  • Adheres to Standard Operating Procedure
  • Discovers client preferences and lifestyle needs to recommend product that satisfies and promotes credibility and repeat business
  • Upholds an omni-channel mindset to seamlessly service client through all touchpoints
  • Develops client relationships through various outreach - purchase follow-up, replenishment, new launches, promotions and Violet Boxes and through engagement - makeup appointments and lessons, artist residencies, eventing and exposure to website editorial and social media content
  • Addresses and resolves client situations according to company standards
  • Provides makeup application for talent, company partners and all others required by Violet Grey and is credited for such when possible
  • Observes social media etiquette when posting about the company, its brand partners and products
  • Participates voluntarily to be photographed or filmed for social media contentRetail beauty sales background - luxury brand and boutique experience a plus
  • Makeup artistry skilled - industry experience highly desirable
  • Client development savvy
  • Self-motivated - able to strategize own business
