THE ROLEWe are looking for professionals to help us continue to drive innovation, making an impact on the reliability, performance, and scalability of Farfetch industry-leading technology. You must have a DevOps mindset and be passionate about automation, scalability and infrastructure reliability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, develop, implement and manage cloud native infrastructure and tooling
  • Develop an ecosystem that can be efficiently and autonomously used by engineering teams, abstracting the infrastructure layer
  • Contribute to building self-service tooling for our internal platforms
  • Operate and maintain infrastructure components such as Linux and Windows based systems, configuration management and orchestration using automated processes
  • Provide operational support for the platform, ensuring it is scalable, reliable and elastic to meet the company’s ever changing needs
  • Identify improvement opportunities regarding processes, technology and operational efficiency
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends, and continuously improve the platform to meet the changing needs of the company
  • Collaborate as part of a cross-functional team, following Agile methodologies

WHO YOU ARE

  • Graduated or higher in Computer Science or another technical discipline, or related practical experience
  • Proficient with Agile methodology and processes
  • Seasoned in the software development lifecycle
  • Seasoned with CI/CD pipelines and used to work with Git and Jenkins
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python
  • Experienced with configuration management solutions (SaltStack is a plus) and scripting (PowerShell and Bash)
  • Interested in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems using creative approaches
  • Familiarised with the development of containerised environments under container orchestration technologies
  • Experienced in managing high availability and performance production environments - Windows and Linux Systems, Microsoft Web Servers, HAProxy
  • Familiarised with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP
  • Adaptable to new technologies and changing business needs
  • Excellent communicator and keen on complex problem solving
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills
  • Driven by objectives and accountable by definition
  • Creative and fun to work with
