THE ROLEAs an Engineering Lead in the Performance and Observability area, you will lead a team of engineers working under a critical environment. The area serves as a backbone of our Tech Platform being responsible for several technologies that are crucial to the success of FARFETCH’s business. The team is part of the Tech Platform Engineering, a group focused on improving the SDLC at FARFETCH and making the Tech Platform more efficient, resilient and scalable. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead and manage a team of individual contributors, setting clear expectations, providing mentorship and guidance, and fostering a culture of growth and continuous learning
  • Develop and implement strategic roadmaps for improving system performance and enhancing observability
  • Act as the key interface between our team and the rest of the organization, ensuring that performance and observability goals are aligned with broader company objectives
  • Drive technical initiatives that improve the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our systems, ensuring our platform is prepared for high-stakes sale seasons
  • Engage with architects and engineering teams to understand their needs, and tailor our services to meet these requirements
  • Monitor system performance, managing any issues or potential improvements in collaboration with the relevant teams

WHO YOU ARE

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Lead or similar role
  • Deep technical understanding and hands-on experience with performance and observability tools and methodologies
  • Exceptional roadmap management abilities
  • Strong growth mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and learning
  • Proven experience engaging with diverse teams including architects and engineers
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
