The Opportunity

Our Process & Controls practice is undergoing rapid growth, driven by growing demand for data‑enabled assurance, intelligent controls, and responsible AI adoption across Financial Services. We partner with global banks, asset managers, insurers and payment institutions to help transform their risk and internal audit functions - embedding advanced analytics, automation, and Generative AI into the heart of how they operate.

As a Senior Manager in our AI & Data team, you will take a leading role in shaping and delivering next‑generation assurance solutions. You’ll work at the intersection of technology, risk and business change - designing and overseeing innovative analytics, advising senior stakeholders, and helping clients modernise their control environments for a digital future.

Your Key Responsibilities

Strategic Impact & Client Leadership

  • Lead the design and delivery of AI and data-enabled risk, controls and internal audit transformation programmes across major Financial Services organisations.
  • Build and nurture senior client relationships (CAE, CRO, CIO, Heads of Audit/Controls) and act as a trusted advisor on topics including data-led testing, control automation, , and digital risk.
  • Shape client strategy and roadmaps for integrating Generative AI, analytics and automation into their risk and audit capabilities.

Commercial & Practice Leadership

  • Own a business development contribution, including identifying opportunities, shaping proposals and supporting the conversion of a healthy pipeline of work.
  • Develop market‑leading propositions in areas such as AI assurance, model risk management, data risk, and automated controls testing.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the wider practice, including recruitment, performance management, and capability building.

Delivery Excellence & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality AI, data analytics and internal audit engagements - ensuring compliance with methodologies and quality standards.
  • Provide expert challenge and direction to technical teams working with Python, SQL, Alteryx or other tools to conduct analytics, automate testing or evaluate model risks.
  • Translate complex data outputs into actionable insights for risk, control and audit stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation across engagements, championing the use of analytics platforms, cloud technologies, and Generative AI where appropriate.

People Leadership

  • Mentor, coach and develop diverse junior and mid‑level team members, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing environment.
  • Role‑model collaborative leadership, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Skills & Attributes for Success

Consulting & Leadership

  • Ability to lead complex engagements and influence senior stakeholders across all functions within client organisations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience contributing to business growth.
  • High levels of drive, accountability and the ability to deliver under pressure.

AI & Data Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of how technologies - including analytics, automation, machine learning and Generative AI - can transform risk, controls and internal audit.
  • Experience overseeing analytics projects and reviewing code in Python and SQL; familiarity with other languages such as R or Java is a plus.

Financial Services Risk, Controls & Audit

  • Experience delivering or overseeing internal audit, control testing and/or risk‑related analytics within Financial Services, either in consulting or industry.
  • Understanding of evolving regulatory expectations, including AI governance, model risk management and data risk.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • Significant experience in Financial Services risk, controls and internal audit - ideally within a Big 4, global consultancy or major FS institution.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow client relationships at a senior level.
  • Demonstrable experience managing data analytics or AI initiatives within a risk or assurance context.
  • Experience using analytics tools and AI techniques to drive efficiency or effectiveness improvements in audit or control processes.
  • Track record of delivering high‑quality presentations and insights to internal and external audiences.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Experience with data management, data governance, model risk or AI assurance frameworks.
  • A background in designing or reviewing analytics or models using Python, R, or related libraries.
  • Experience working with blue‑chip Financial Services clients on complex change or regulatory programmes.
