Job Title: UK&I SaT AI Solutions Engineer Senior Manager
Reports To: UK&I SaT Product Manager

Role Type: Permanent
Grade: Level 4 – Associate Director / senior Manager

Job Summary

The UK&I SaT AI Solutions Engineer (Full stack) Senior Manager is responsible for designing, developing and deploying internal AI‑enabled applications and platforms across the SaT business. This role is not consulting or client‑facing. It is focused entirely on internal product and capability development that improves how SaT practitioners work day‑to‑day. This is not a traditional client delivery role.

The role combines strong full‑stack engineering capability with applied AI, taking solutions from early concept and rapid prototyping through to production‑ready, reusable internal tools. Working closely with the SaT AI Product team, internal technology teams and business practitioners, the role helps scale AI adoption through well‑engineered, governed and maintainable internal solutions.

Key Responsibilities

AI & Full‑Stack Solution Development

  • Design, build and deploy full‑stack internal applications, spanning frontend, backend, data and AI components as appropriate.
  • Develop AI‑enabled tools and agents for internal use, leveraging platforms such as Copilot and other EY‑approved technologies.
  • Rapidly prototype new ideas and approaches, evolving them into scalable, production‑ready internal solutions.
  • Apply AI‑native development approaches to accelerate delivery, while maintaining high standards of code quality, security and reliability.

Ownership & Engineering Quality

  • Take end‑to‑end ownership of internal solutions from initial concept through to production deployment and ongoing enhancement.
  • Make pragmatic engineering trade‑offs appropriate to internal platforms, balancing speed, maintainability, extensibility and cost.
  • Architect systems that integrate cleanly with existing EY platforms and data sources.
  • Support deployment, monitoring and ongoing improvement of applications in cloud environments.

Collaboration, Adoption & Governance

  • Work closely with business practitioners, product managers and internal technology teams to understand requirements and co‑design solutions.
  • Contribute reusable components, patterns and internal tooling to enable faster and more consistent delivery across SaT.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with EY risk, quality, information security and governance standards.
  • Document solutions and support internal enablement, training and adoption.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies, tools and software engineering practices relevant to EY and SaT.
  • Actively contribute to improving internal engineering standards, approaches and ways of working.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Strong full‑stack engineering experience, with a track record of building and owning production‑grade applications.
  • Experience developing frontend interfaces and backend services, including APIs, business logic and integrations.
  • Solid understanding of data and database design, including working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (ideally Azure), including deployment and operation of applications in production.
  • Experience building and deploying AI‑enabled solutions or agents using platforms such as Copilot, Azure or similar.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including version control, testing and collaborative development practices.
  • Comfortable working across the full development lifecycle, from initial build through to deployment and ongoing support
  • A mindset that embraces AI as a core part of the development workflow, using it to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of quality and correctness
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with partially defined requirements
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every listed requirement. We value potential, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly as much as prior experience.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Have experience integrating AI capabilities (e.g. LLMs, RAG, embeddings) into real applications, with an understanding of where they add value and their limitations
  • Be comfortable working in fast-paced, build-focused environments, using iterative approaches to develop and refine solutions
  • Have experience building user-facing tools, such as data visualisations or interactive applications that support decision-making
  • Bring experience from consulting, product, or internal innovation teams, with an understanding of how to build within organisational constraints
  • Show an active interest in evolving development practices, particularly in how AI is changing how software is designed, built, and maintained
  • Understanding of data governance, security and compliance in enterprise environments.
  • Experience working in strategy, transactions, transformation or other complex enterprise contexts.

What we look for

  • We are looking for an experienced engineer who take ownership and deliver high-quality, practical solutions.
  • You are comfortable turning loosely defined concepts into well-structured applications, making balanced trade-offs between speed, scalability, and maintainability. You bring strong full stack judgement and take responsibility for what you build in production.
  • You use AI as a core part of how you develop software, applying it thoughtfully while maintaining a high bar for quality.
  • You work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, helping shape solutions through building and delivering outcomes that get used.
