Senior Consultant, Cybersecurity – UKFS Consulting Service Delivery
The Opportunity
Are you ready to make a real impact in financial services? We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cybersecurity professional to join our Newcastle team. In this role, you will apply your experience and specialist knowledge to help clients strengthen cyber resilience, manage technology risk and deliver effective security outcomes across complex change and transformation programmes. You’ll be part of our Consulting Service Delivery (CSD) team in Newcastle, which specialises in the operational delivery of engagements that help our clients with their business challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to support clients across different CSD competency areas, with a primary focus on Cybersecurity, while continuing to build broader consulting and delivery skills to succeed in a digitally enabled future.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work effectively as part of operational delivery teams to support clients with Cybersecurity, technology risk and broader Consulting engagements
- Support the delivery of cyber assessments, control reviews, remediation activity and security improvement programmes in line with client and EY standards
- Analyse cyber risks, issues and control gaps, helping clients understand findings and identify practical actions to improve their security posture
- Prepare and review clear, insightful reports, presentations and management information for clients and stakeholders
- Coordinate delivery activities across project teams, ensuring work is completed on time, to quality expectations and in line with agreed engagement plans
- Supervise and support junior team members, providing coaching, feedback and ongoing professional development
- Act as a workplace coach for assigned junior colleagues, providing coaching, performance feedback, pastoral and development support
- Review and quality assure analysis, working papers, reports and client deliverables produced by junior team members
- Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues across EY, contributing to a positive and collaborative culture
- Own assigned engagement management activities, including resource tracking, financial monitoring and delivery reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery through digital, automation, data and AI capabilities, championing adoption of digitally enabled ways of working across project teams
- Contribute to the development of Cybersecurity and broader CSD capability through knowledge sharing, training and continuous improvement initiatives

- Strong understanding of Cybersecurity concepts, including cyber risk management, security controls, governance, resilience and regulatory expectations
- Ability to assess cyber risks and controls, identify issues and translate technical findings into clear, practical recommendations
- Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate delivery activities, provide direction and support high-quality team performance
- Curiosity and enthusiasm to develop digital skills and embrace emerging technologies, data-driven delivery approaches and digitally enabled ways of working

- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new challenges, projects and client requirements across Cybersecurity and broader Consulting Service Delivery engagements
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Experience working in Cybersecurity, technology risk, information security, cyber resilience or a related professional services environment
- Experience supporting cyber assessments, control testing, risk reviews, remediation activity, policy and procedure reviews, or security improvement programmes
- Experience preparing clear client-facing deliverables, including reports, analysis, working papers, presentations or management information
- Experience coordinating project activity and supporting successful delivery outcomes
- A commitment to continuous learning, including developing capabilities in digital tools, automation, AI and emerging technologies that enhance delivery effectiveness
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Support EY’s connected working approach, with presence in the Newcastle office dictated by Business or Client demands
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience in Financial Services or another regulated sector
- Familiarity with cyber frameworks, standards or regulatory expectations such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, DORA, operational resilience or third-party risk management
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members
- Experience using digital, automation, reporting or workflow tools to support cyber delivery, risk management and governance
