Job Description

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

Step into a Manager role with global reach, real impact and room to grow

Join EY’s Newcastle Centre of Excellence, a growing hub for global tax talent where you can build international experience, develop future-focused skills and progress your career in a high-growth team.

In this role, you’ll work with multinational clients, collaborate across EY’s international network and gain experience that goes well beyond a traditional compliance role.

It’s an opportunity for a Manager who wants more than day-to-day delivery: broader leadership exposure, hands-on involvement in transformation and technology, and a clear path to develop and progress.

Why join this team

  • Global reach: Work with multinational clients and teams across EY’s international network.
  • Transformation exposure: Build experience across operating model change, automation and tax technology.
  • Flexibility: A hybrid working model designed to support performance, balance and growth.
  • Clear progression: A strong path to Senior Manager, Director and beyond.
  • Newcastle Centre of Excellence: Join one of EY’s strategic growth hubs, where we are investing in talent, building specialist capability and creating clear opportunities to learn, develop and progress.

The opportunity

As a Manager in our Global Tax Managed Services team, you will:

  • Lead multi-country compliance and reporting engagements
  • Support tax transformation, outsourcing and process improvement projects
  • Work with global teams and stakeholders across jurisdictions
  • Help shape future-focused tax operating models using technology and data

If you’re looking for breadth, progression and future-focused experience, this role offers all three.

Key responsibilities

Global delivery & stakeholder management

  • Manage global compliance engagements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and cross-border teams (UK, India, Europe)
  • Oversee delivery quality, timelines, and service performance (SLAs/KPIs)
  • Lead offshore and onshore teams, providing guidance and coaching

Transformation & process improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve compliance and reporting processes
  • Support design and implementation of efficient, scalable tax operating models
  • Contribute to projects involving automation, data optimisation, and technology enablement

Commercial & financial management

  • Manage budgets, resourcing, and profitability of engagements
  • Support pricing, scoping, and commercial negotiations
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and deliver additional value to clients

Risk, quality & governance

  • Ensure compliance with internal quality and risk frameworks
  • Manage contractual governance and issue resolution processes
  • Work closely with quality and risk management and legal teams on complex matters

What we’re looking for

You’ll likely bring strong tax experience, commercial judgement and the ambition to grow in a global, evolving environment.

  • Experience in Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax or Accounting in professional services or industry
  • Experience working across multi-country or cross-border engagements
  • Experience leading and developing teams, including offshore delivery models
  • Strong stakeholder, project and team leadership skills
  • Interest in transformation, automation, tax technology or data analytics
  • ACA, CTA, CA or equivalent qualifications are helpful but not essential
  • A collaborative and globally minded professional
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Problem-solver with a continuous improvement and innovation mindset
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment

What we offer you

  • Structured career progression to Senior Manager, Director and beyond
  • Coaching, mentoring and development tailored to your goals
  • Global project exposure, cross-border collaboration and transformation experience
  • Hands-on experience with tax technology, automation and data analytics
  • Involvement in shaping the future of tax delivery models
  • A hybrid working model, competitive rewards and an inclusive culture
