About the role:
Okay, we’ve waffled long enough. So let’s get to the good bit: You.
As a Test Engineer, your role sits within the test team who are responsible for ensuring that the products Elvie makes meet the high standards we expect. You will be reporting to a senior test engineer and working on a mix of in-market products and new products at different stages of the product development cycle. You will develop test methods, processes and rigs alongside analysing results to ensure a smooth and efficient product testing process. Working cross-functionally with stakeholders, e.g. Product Engineers, Operations and Quality teams, you will ensure that the products are fully compliant to the quality and performance standards we set.
What you’ll be doing at Elvie:
- You’ve spent some time working within the product development industry, having gained experience and knowledge of the product development process.
- You have a passion for solving problems and designing solutions to verify products are compliant and deliver best performance and reliability to the user.
- You are practical, hands-on and comfortable building and modifying rigs in a workshop.
- Mechanically inclined with an eye for effective, usable designs.
- You have an awareness of the importance of robust testing and data integrity during the design process.
- You are organised, logical and can plan and manage your tasks well.
- You identify technical challenges as they arise and you provide well thought-out solutions to them
- You’re unafraid to challenge the status quo if you can see an improvement to a process or solution
Location: Hybrid working; a mix of working from our Bristol office & working remotely
Employment type: 10 month Fixed Term Contract (please note, you must have the right to work in the UK)
Requirements
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- Engineering Degree or similar. Graduates will also be considered.
- Previous experience in product development.
- An appreciation of stakeholders involved in new product development.
- Experience modelling in 3D CAD (preferred Solidworks experience).
- Ability to develop and/or source engineering components within a product team.
- Rapid and manual prototyping or other relevant workshop experience.
- Ability to analyse test data and translate it into meaningful, concise results.
- You are a self-starter with great visual and excellent verbal communication skills.
- You are comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and enjoy the idea of solving problems that have not been solved before.
Bonus Skills:
- Prior use of product development tools such as FMEA, Tolerance Analysis, GD&T.
- Experience with wearable and/or connected product development.
- Use of statistical tools to demonstrate repeatability and reproducibility of tests.
- And, in an ideal world, experience working in an ISO 13485 environment.

- 30-minute video call with one of our recruiters
- 30-45 minute video call with the hiring manager
- 45-60 minute video interview with the team (some positions may require you to complete a task/presentation)
- For some positions, there may be an additional interview with one of our senior leadership team
