Job Description

Tesco Media is the ultimate media partner to brands. Built on unrivalled customer insight, it’s a media owner with soul, scale, and storytelling power. Tesco Media helps brands and agencies connect meaningfully with customers, drive creative effectiveness, and grow at the point of purchase.

Through Tesco, the UK’s largest grocery retailer with over 24 million Clubcard households - representing nearly every home in the UK - Tesco Media offers brands an unparalleled view into the motivations and behaviours of the nation. It is perfectly positioned to solve business’s greatest marketing challenges, unlocking growth by enabling brands to connect with customers in meaningful ways online, in-store and via its offsite partners, all while enhancing the shopping experience for its customers.

We’re looking for a talented Ad Policy Specialist who expects more from their career. Sitting within the Tesco Media Operations team, this role operates at the intersection of advertising policy, risk management, and operational delivery.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that all advertising activity meets UK regulatory standards while enabling innovation and growth across our media offering. Acting as a subject matter expert, you’ll partner with teams across the business to provide guidance, shape policy frameworks, and support responsible, effective advertising.

This is a highly visible role where your expertise will directly influence how campaigns are delivered to millions of customers.

What you’ll be working on

  • Develop and maintain ad policy frameworks aligned with UK advertising regulations, including CAP Code and LHF/HFSS requirements

  • Provide expert guidance on complex or high-risk advertising decisions, balancing compliance with commercial outcomes

  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Product, and Legal teams to ensure policies are clearly understood and consistently applied

  • Create and deliver training materials and documentation to support internal teams and external stakeholders

  • Review and assess campaign risks, supporting escalations and offering clear recommendations

  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends, translating them into actionable policy updates

  • Use data and insights to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in policy and processes

  • Support innovation in media products by embedding compliant and scalable policy approaches

  • Champion best practice in governance and risk management, ensuring brand integrity and customer trust

What we’re looking for

  • Strong understanding of UK advertising regulations and digital ad policy (e.g. CAP Code, ASA guidelines)

  • Experience working within digital advertising, retail media, marketplaces, or publisher environments

  • Background in policy, governance, risk, compliance, or trust & safety functions

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex scenarios and make sound decisions

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain policy clearly to a range of audiences

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities

  • Proven ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments

  • Experience supporting product or engineering teams

  • Background in retail media, ecommerce, or marketplace ecosystems

  • Experience creating training and enablement materials
