Job Description

Rider Onboarding Associate

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drive everything we do. Our Operations team is at the heart of Deliveroo—ensuring our three-sided marketplace runs safely, fairly, and efficiently. From designing robust policies to navigating complex regulatory landscapes and scaling global frameworks, we solve high-stakes challenges that protect our community. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, possess strong operational grit, and want to build trust in a global brand—this is the team for you.

We’re looking for a Rider Onboarding Associate to join our London team. In this role, you’ll oversee the processes that guide applicants through our onboarding stages, conducting audits and ensuring our fleet is adequately staffed to meet customer demand.

Get to know our Operations team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Central Rider Operations team, reporting directly to the Onboarding Team Lead. You will play a critical role in managing our applicant funnel and ensuring all new riders meet our high standards for compliance and documentation.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Manage Applicant Flows: Support applicants through the onboarding lifecycle, ensuring they move smoothly through application stages and hit weekly hiring targets.

  • Pipeline Monitoring: Monitor onboarding supply pipelines and report any issues, blockers, or anomalies to the Team Lead to ensure a consistent flow of new riders.

  • Quality & Compliance: Conduct rigorous quality checks on new riders to ensure they meet mandatory onboarding standards and document requirements.

  • Escalation Handling: Respond to internal and external applicant-related escalations, suggesting creative solutions to unblock flows and improve the experience.

  • Process Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation and proactively suggest process improvements to increase efficiency.

  • Collaborative Administration: Carry out essential administrative tasks and work closely with the wider Rider Operations team to meet departmental KPIs.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:

  • Language Skills: You are proficient in written and spoken English and Italian. Proficiency in French or Dutch is a significant plus.

  • Operational Organisation: You are highly organised with excellent attention to detail and comfortable following structured, high-volume processes.

  • Communication & Collaboration: A natural team player with strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively in team discussions.

  • Adaptability: The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and a desire to learn new operational tools.

  • Technical Basics: Familiarity with Google Sheets or Excel (basic to intermediate level). Experience with Salesforce is desirable.

  • Flexibility: You are comfortable with a hybrid work policy (3 days in the London office) and available to work some weekends throughout the year.
