Our Compliance Department is looking for a talented New Business Onboarding (NBO) Assistant Manager to assist NBO Manager with managing BAU and other projects and to act as a point of escalation. The NBO Assistant Manager will report to the NBO Manager in London. We are looking for a Compliance Specialist with experience in Financial Crime and review of AML Framework.

The Details…

  • Responsible for new business onboarding applications for Financial Institutions, Payment Institutions and Corporates in a myriad of industries and jurisdictions.
  • Attending preliminary client calls alongside Sales, Account Manager and Solutions.
  • Assist in the discovery of new markets and segments on behalf of the Compliance team working closely with key stakeholders.
  • Undertaking reviews of global clients’ procedures to ensure alignment with Currencycloud specific risk appetite, and ensure they have sufficient controls to mitigate financial crime risk.
  • Conducting reviews on high risk clients’ procedures, business plans, flow of funds, and regulatory cover.
  • Accountable for leading client onboarding calls to assess the effectiveness of their money laundering controls and to evaluate whether they are in line with Currencycloud’s risk appetite.
  • Responsible for undertaking enhanced due diligence on customers that pose greater risks, including investigating the legitimacy of the funds used in the business relationship.
  • Complete Compliance administration (such as keeping client records up to date).
  • Participate in regular reviews of departmental procedures and identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for supporting the manager in overseeing reviews of global clients’ procedures.
  • Accountable for being an internal escalation point for the team and internal key stakeholders.
  • Overseeing training for junior members of the New Business Onboarding team.
  • Keep up to date with current and future regulatory changes that affect the business and use this knowledge to proactively suggest improvements to compliance policies and procedures.
  • Assisting manager with recruitment, promotion and performance evaluation.
  • Conducting activity reviews on existing clients to ensure activity remains consistent and within CC’s risk appetite.

  • Has an understanding of AML regulations, AML and Risk Framework
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and initiative.
  • The ability to cope well under pressure and come up with innovative solutions when issues arise.
  • Ability to prioritise work by taking the impact and scale of the work into consideration, as well as manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Clients onboarded within set deadlines.
  • Supporting Managers and NBO Team with resolutions on problems, queries, and cases.
  • Responses provided to all queries from stakeholders.
  • Undertake tasks within SLA.
  • All duties carried out in the role are delivered to a high standard.
  • All processes and policies remain current, in line with any regulatory changes.
