Senior Solution Architect (Finance)

Job Description

An opportunity to play your part – The landscape in Centrica is undergoing significant change and transformation as we re-platform across all our business units. Solution Architects in the Strategy & Architecture team play a key role in the transformation, driving the change agenda based on the strategic roadmaps for the applications and working with the Programmes to design and implement the architecture, end to end.

The day to day

  • Design and drive comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements in the financial domain

  • Provide architectural support to key initiatives through ideation, design, scope, test, etc.

  • Produce conceptual and logical architectures to meet strategic business, financial, and technology objectives through documentation of strategy, systems, architectures, process flows and value-chains

  • Own /support the creation and maintenance of technology blueprints and roadmaps showing the evolution of systems from current to target state which meet strategic business, financial and technology objectives

  • Influence peers, managers, and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity – work as part of a multi-functional team, using multiple different delivery methods and frameworks

  • Ensure alignment of initiatives against documented strategy; Drive technology strategy across multiple teams ensuring simplification and consolidation where possible

  • Participate in architecture consulting and advisory engagements as required to meet objectives

About you

A self-motivated individual with 7+ years’ experience working in technology, designing, and implementing finance processes and solutions. You will design and drive comprehensive solutions which meet business requirements to support the portfolio.

  • Strong background in solution architecture and/or enterprise architecture.

  • Excellent written (technical) and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of management

  • Ability to work with various diverse groups (business, technology, compliance, legal, etc)

  • Ability to stimulate and participate in creative thinking for out-of-the-box solutions

  • Work effectively in a matrix organization with teams of architects, developers, and business partners with minimal supervision

  • Strong consulting skills and experience – able to shape and drive consultative outcomes with clients.

  • Certification in TOGAF or a similar architecture discipline would be an advantage, along with experience of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Sales Force

  • The role requires a strong functional and architectural background with an in-depth knowledge of energy and service processes.

  • Defining the current and future blueprints, shaping the business and technology roadmaps, and providing key inputs to technology investment.

  • Customer Management, Contract Management, Billing, SMART Metering, Workforce Management, or Cloud provisioning will be your specialist subjects with experience of the relevant up and downstream processes in; order to cash, logistics, customer service etc.

  • Understanding of Industry standards would be a bonus!
