Job Description

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

We’re driving one of the most exciting and ambitious transformations programmes to help us achieve our 2030 vision that Centrica will be a company with world-class talent delivering exceptional service, products and solutions to all our customers.

To help lead this change, we’re recruiting for a talented and experienced Group Transformation Management Office Director.

Location: UK, Flexible

As Director of TMO, you will:

  • Lead the Group Transformation Management Office, setting the standards, governance, and rhythm that underpin Centrica’s transformation portfolio.
  • Provide strategic oversight of transformation initiatives across Group Functions and Business Units, ensuring alignment to enterprise priorities and value creation.
  • Shape and run senior governance forums, including enterprise-level transformation boards, enabling informed, timely decision-making.
  • Own the portfolio view of delivery, risk, and benefits, providing a single source of truth to senior leaders.
  • Lead enterprise-wide transformation reporting and benefits tracking, ensuring that value is realised, not just planned.
  • Act as a senior point of assurance and challenge for major programmes, intervening where delivery is off track.
  • Build and lead a high-performing TMO team, developing capability and embedding leading practice across the organisation.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across Strategy, Finance, Technology, HR and Operations to optimise investment, prioritisation, and outcomes.

Here’s who we’re looking for:

This is a senior role requiring credible enterprise-scale experience. Successful candidates will bring:

  • Extensive experience leading portfolio, programme, or transformation management offices in large, complex or regulated organisations.
  • A strong track record of overseeing large-scale transformation portfolios (typically £50m+ investment), delivering measurable financial, operational, and customer outcomes.
  • Experience operating confidently at Executive and Board level, providing assurance, insight, and challenge.
  • Deep understanding of governance, investment control, benefits realisation, and delivery assurance.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution in ambiguous, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong people leadership capability, with experience building and leading senior teams.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, able to align diverse stakeholders behind common goals.
  • Experience in management consulting or enterprise transformation roles within FTSE / blue-chip organisations is particularly relevant.

If you’re an experienced transformation leader who enjoys operating at enterprise scale, bringing structure to complexity, and driving value through disciplined delivery, we’d love to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and a short supporting statement outlining your relevant experience and motivation for the role.

Why should you apply?
