Governance and Process Excellence Analyst

This role within the Group Business Services (GBS) team is responsible for identifying, planning, and implementing changes or projects to improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time and rework across the functions it supports (currently HR, Procurement & Finance). The role will work to foster a culture of Solution Excellence through process improvement linked to high-tech solutions that improve both manual and IT processes whilst creating efficiencies.

In addition, the role balances these Process Excellence activities which will form the majority of the role with supporting the Policy/Process Management, Risk Management and Audit/Assurance activities the team provides as a service to the functions GBS supports to improve their governance, control and information quality.

Key Accountabilities

  • Execution of activities to support the GBS strategy for Process and Solution Excellence

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to streamline business processes including:

    • Meeting with colleagues (1-to-1 and through workshops) to discuss areas of focus and improvement within their business areas

    • Gathering and processing data to identify process performance areas

    • Producing analytics, reports and recommendations to summarise findings

  • Assessing improvement areas identified to determine which opportunities to follow to realise the greatest value

  • Execution of activities to realise the benefits identified through process analysis activities including:

    • Designing workflow and process strategies to improve business performance

    • Building and/or overseeing the implementation of revised processes and workflows

    • Monitoring the efficacy of updated processes and workflows to ensure benefits are realised

  • Creating process documentation/workflows, knowledge articles, and self-service guidance for services in the functions supported

  • Communication and translation of process improvements and risk mitigations to stakeholders

  • Provision of ongoing coordination and support activities to facilitate the effective governance of new processes, policies and automated solutions

  • Build and maintain relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure Governance and Process Excellence activities provided run as smoothly as possible

Required Knowledge, skills & Experience

  • Good knowledge and experience working in a systems, process, or operational compliance environment, ideally within a Shared Service/GBS environment

  • Experience working in a process improvement or risk management environment

  • Understanding of Six Sigma Methodologies

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

  • Experience managing governance requirements and activities

  • Proven experience of executing audit and/or assurance activities

  • Proven experience of process management and document governance

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and reporting tools (such as Power BI)

  • Possess good creative skills and make suggestions for improvement

  • Must be able to work under pressure and to constantly changing deadlines

  • Experience of organising and facilitating meetings

  • Experience of presenting to senior stakeholders
