Role Purpose

As Field Operations Installations Team Lead, you’ll own the delivery of end-to-end field installation operations for a defined patch of direct plumbing and heating engineers delivering a range of installation products including gas boiler installations, central heating upgrades, heat pump installation, and all new customer-based installation and upgrade products in development.

You’ll be responsible for the ongoing quality and safety oversight of a team of plumbing and heating engineers with defined delivery, quality, and safety metrics as well as providing technical support when required.

You’ll work with management and a back-office admin team to organise materials, work schedules and deal with customer complaints for all plumbing and installation work undertaken. You’ll also contribute to the development and implementation of new product opportunities, and co-ordinate the expansion of service and solution products for field operations.

About the Role

  • Overall ownership of the quality and delivery of all plumbing and heating installations for field operations
  • Ensuring that all plumbing and installation work is delivered in line with quality, safety, and brand guidelines
  • Accountable for the in-field organisation of the plumbing and heating engineers and the environment, health and safety aspects of the services and solutions business
  • Ensuring that key safety, quality, and customer complaints information is fully utilised to ensure that operational KPIs are achieved, and that customer satisfaction is optimised
  • Ensuring that the team of plumbing and heating engineers are delivering in line with agreed annual targets
  • Coaching, mentoring and assisting heating engineers on technical queries and adherence to standards
  • Liaise closely with the Bord Gáis Energy Health & Safety team to ensure installation activities and safety procedures are in line with company policy and objectives
  • Liaison with 3rd party suppliers, e.g., boiler manufacturers, to ensure that best in class products are utilised as part of the installation offer to customers
  • Continuous professional and industry learning required including industry changes with specific reference to RGI, Safe Electric, CRU and new sustainable products that enter the marketplace
  • Input to and delivery of training for installation engineers, internal and external partners
  • Other duties may be assigned from time to time

About You

  • Expert knowledge of plumbing, gas, and renewables industry, with the required technical qualifications and regulatory affiliations/registrations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in leading a field operations technical teams for the heating industry
  • Experience in customer focused service delivery business
  • Strong technical, reporting, and analytical skills
  • Proven team player and team leader with ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong background in training and mentoring
  • RGI Registration
  • Plumbing Trade Qualification or equivalent experience minimum of 5 years
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with range of internal and external stakeholders
