Role Purpose:
We are looking to recruit an Environmental Compliance Partner to support our Asset Development ambitions. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced candidates to work on large scale projects from due diligence, development acquisition, green field through to asset development and operation. This is a crucial role in a fast-paced dynamic environment ensuring our Asset Development portfolio environmental compliance ambitions and expectations are met. The person will be accountable to the Head of Planning and Compliance with the aim of providing environmental direction and support across all Asset projects.
About the Role:
- Manage the portfolio of asset developments through environmental compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including regulatory and, by working closely with them, ensure that any licences, permits, or consents required for project development and operation are in place, and maintained.
- Support any project environmental due diligence stage from green field development through acquisition.
- Keep up to date with all relevant environmental legislation including guidance and industry best practice and that such knowledge is shared, utilised and embedded within the business asset development plans.
- Identify those aspects of the asset development programme that can have an environmental impact, assist in developing and maintaining the risk registers and ensure measures are implemented at each stage of the programme to effectively manage the risks.
- Help develop plans to reduce environmental impacts of planned assets.
- Manage the interaction with multi-disciplinary teams from an environmental compliance perspective
- Maintain adequate documentation for all models and methodologies and ensure adequate controls are in place
About you:
- Several years of work experience is required preferably, in energy & renewables.
- Proven environmental compliance experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental science/engineering discipline
- Relevant experience in planning and environmental management / consultancy.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, policy, and practice.
- Proven track record of working on your own initiative.
- Excellent Project Management skills with attentiveness to critical dates and adherence to deadlines
- Clear and confident verbal & written communication skills.
