Overview

At Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) we provide integrated energy solutions that deliver cost efficiency, resilience and accelerate our customers’ journeys to a low carbon future. In Centrica Energy Assets (CEA) within CBS we are building a 1GW portfolio of flexible energy generation assets including solar, battery and hydrogen ready peaking plants to help drive the transition to Net Zero.

As Senior Construction Manager you will be the main contact point to deal with all the relevant: Health and safety, Daily project coordination and SimOps activities. Supervising of the diverse site teams circa 15-50 and revenue circa £100K to £35 million.

Travel Requirements – Travel to other Centrica sites and projects in UK.

The Role

You’ll manage health and safety on site and be accountable for the adequate supervision of all site personal under their CDM responsibilities and ensuring contractors hit their project milestones.

You need to inspect works in progress to ensure conformity to Contractors RAMS and Centrica standards and be accountable for implementing SimOps reports with assistance of all relevant contractors and ensure compliance.

Other duties will include checking site deliveries, general site upkeep including plant check pre use checks and calibration certification.

You will also regularly review contractors reports and daily pre-task briefings and implement any necessary corrective measures.

Managing HSE files, inductions, safety learning, toolbox talks, permitting, and PPE will also be part of your role. You will also report early warning notices to the assigned Project Manager. Lastly, in line with environmental legislation you will monitor and record waste volumes removed from site by Contractors.

The Person

Work Experience

You will be a leader with experience as a Site Supervisor or equivalent or experience within a Construction background. Being highly skilled in interpretation of detailed complex construction drawings and documents and the ability to convey understanding to support site operatives is key.

With programme management experience and the aptitude to problem solve you will also be fully conversant with CDM regs and assure personnel site competency.

Education and Certifications

You will have been a registered apprentice or undergone some equivalent method of training and have had practical training in Construction.
Additionally you will have obtained an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a Construction discipline and hold a current SMSTS qualification and certificate. First Aider certificate also required.
