Job Description
About carwow
We’re on a mission to change the way people buy, sell or use a car by creating the world’s best online car marketplace. Since starting our journey in 2011, we’ve grown to become one of the most trusted comparison sites with over 12 million active users and an ‘excellent’ Trustpilot rating of 4.7.
carwow is backed by some of Europe’s most respected technology, marketplace and automotive investors, with $55 million Series D funding secured in December 2021. Over 400 carwowers from 25 nationalities work with us in the UK, Germany, Spain and Portugal. One of our goals for 2022 is to become a Top 10 European Start-Up to work for.
About the role
We’re looking for an exceptional Partner Marketing Manager to lead all of our B2B partner marketing and communication activity in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a fresh strategy and execute it in a rapidly growing business.
As a marketplace our success is directly linked to the commercial relationships we build and nurture with our partners across the industry from car manufacturers to dealer groups, leasing brokers and independent car supermarkets. In this role, you will help us to build an end-to-end marketing and communication strategy to reach and stay connected with these partners. It’s a varied and busy role that will see you nurturing key trade media relationships, sponsoring and owning events, looking after our partner website and CRM and leading the publication of our annual print magazine.
Your proven track record in communications and marketing and ideally, your experience in an automotive or marketplace environment will help you to get up to speed quickly. Of course you’re a natural collaborator able to work across different teams and contexts to get things done.
You’ll be supported by our Trade and Consumer PR agencies, and work really closely with the UK Country Marketing Manager, Senior PR & Communications Manager and Global Director of Marketing & Communications as well as our wider commercial team of sales and account managers all of whom are seasoned industry experts.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the global brand team, you’ll define the B2B carwow brand positioning in the UK and work out the best way to position our business and the products and services we offer to different audiences, through different channels
- You’ll shape an overall B2B marketing strategy covering advertising, communications, PR and events, partnering with Senior Comms Manager and the UK Country Marketing Manager, to define the UK marketing calendar - planning and managing your campaigns across all touchpoints
- Segmenting target audiences with input from the commercial teams, you’ll build out multi-channel marketing and communication plans to support acquisition and retention and manage their delivery through teams around the business (like the CRM and Brand Account Management teams)
- As the day-to-day contact for external PR agencies you’ll help to shape the story, decide where we focus, and identify and push forward campaign opportunities. As part of this you’ll build direct relationships with key trade journalists, broadcast planners and industry experts / commentators and deliver on-message media coverage.
- Working with our agencies and Global Director of Marketing & Communications, you’ll develop media plans and partner with internal teams (editorial, growth, commercial, OEM) to deliver them
- When we release new product features or relaunch our products, you’ll be involved from the start of the project and play a key role in defining how we’ll share what we’re up to and make the most of the opportunity to stay in touch with our partners. You’ll help the teams evolve their sales collateral and build out their storytelling around the product.
- Responsibility for the quality and consistency of everything that goes, it will sit with you.
Requirements
- You’re creative yet practical, able to think strategically but act tactically when needed
- Your attention to detail is one of your key strengths and your natural curiosity often sees you digging into data and unearthing interesting insights that you work into your plans.
- Prioritisation is your mantra - you’re skilled at evaluating different options and making the best decisions based on experience and data.
- You constantly measure what you’re doing and adapt your plans and strategies based on ROI.
- Launching new products and features into a wider and differing partner network is something you’re really familiar with. You’ve made mistakes, but you’ve learnt from them.
- You’re comfortable working at pace in a fast moving environment and skilled at navigating inputs from different parts of a business. You like to work relatively independently, getting on with what needs to be done and planning your own time and priorities.
- Your communications skills are exceptional.
- You’re organised, structured and methodical. Nothing gets by you!
- Managing agencies or partnerships is something you’ve had experience in and want to do more of.
