About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our new Monorepo DevOps Team. As part of this high-impact, platform-oriented team, you will play a key role in fostering engineering excellence by creating and implementing core processes and tools to enhance development efficiency, reliability, and quality within the Camunda 8 monorepo.
You will collaborate with infrastructure and core software engineering teams to ensure smooth workflows, robust dependency management, and continuous improvement of CI processes; enabling the core Camunda 8 engineering teams to focus better on the core product development.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Implement, automate and maintain core engineering processes in the Camunda 8 monorepository, including: release management and workflows, dependency management, CVE management, asset management.
Monitor and continuously improve monorepo CI health following a metric-driven approach
Collaborate with the key stakeholders to implement the CI strategy and engineering best practices, by creating a positive impact within the C8 Engineering organization.
What You Bring:
Ability and/or willingness to use our product
Software Engineering experience with a track record of delivering high-impact results (preferably, in one of the JVM languages)
Specialization: Fullstack or Backend
Passion for engineering operational excellence beyond writing code, including CI/CD optimization, dependency management with Renovate, release process enhancements, and build efficiency (DevOps mindset)
Experience in CI build tools and automations (GitHub Actions, Java ecosystem - Maven, Docker).
Ability to collaborate across teams and deliver impactful solutions in a platform-like environment.
You thrive in taking ownership of the codebase, as well as how you deploy and operate software. You are comfortable with the “you build it, you run it” mindset
We're looking for a Software Engineer with backend background, with experience and interest in operational excellence and process topics, like developer automation and CI efficiency
We're NOT looking for DevOps/Infrastructure/SRE Engineers for this role
Nice to haves:
Experience in developer experience tools and process optimization.
Automation testing framework experience and QA strategies.

What We Have to Offer:
Compensation
For external hires, we consider the skills and experience of the incoming candidate, but typically place candidates in the first half of the range to ensure ample room for growth over the entire lifecycle of the role.
Below is the annual Total Target Cash Compensation (Total Cash) range for Camundi located in one of our entities. Total Cash refers to base salary and 100% attainment of variable target, where applicable. Actual Total Cash offered will depend on factors such as skills and qualifications related to the role. To comprise the Total Rewards package, Camunda also offers equity (where applicable) in the form of a Virtual Employee Stock Option Plan and benefits based on the country of residence.
The annual Total Cash range for this position for Camundi in our entities is as follows:
United States: $131.000 to $196.000
Germany: €87.000 to €130.000
United Kingdom: £85.000 to £127.500
Singapore: S$162.900 to S$244.400
