Why this job matters:
Delivering support that ensures the DR & TI capabilities for the Global business are maintained and legislation is adhered to.
Deliver 1st & 2nd line support and analysis for all systems under their responsibility.
This work ensures that those responsible for discharging TI and CD capabilities operationally have the tools in place to deliver that regulatory service to its customers.
What you’ll do:
The role holder is responsible for: -
- Accountability & Leadership: Works under general direction within clear framework of accountability - has responsibility for delivering technical work
- Accountable: Plans own work to meet given objectives, timescales and processes.
- Providing support to operational platforms against agreed SLA targets.
- Supports technical decisions which influence the success of projects and team objectives.
- Performs broad range of complex technical or professional work activities, in a variety of contexts.
- Participates and contributes to process improvement initiatives
- Contributing towards ensuring all processes are documented, reviewed and maintained.
- Providing management of incidents and changes.
- Ensure platforms are patched, managed and conform to latest standards.
What you'll bring:
- Provide outstanding technical support to reported incidents; be inquisitive to get to the root of an issue
- Excellent and effective communications skills
- Develops practical and open relationships with Customers, GSS and with other BT teams.
- Can work under direction as well as independently and have a clear framework of accountability.
- Knowledge of specific end to end Obligations system design, standards and applicable underlying security.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Skilled in the support of platform technologies (Windows, Linux, VMWare, Cisco & Juniper).
- Be able to follow documented processes and procedures for the patching and upgrades of software and hardware.
The role is subject to you gaining and keeping the necessary level of security clearance needed to undertake your work. The result of the security clearance vetting is not subject to appeal. Failure to successfully achieve and maintain the necessary level of security clearance may see any offer of employment with BT cease or withdrawn or may cause a role change or possibly lead to termination of employment.
