About the role

The SMB Marketing Manager supports the strategy and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across the SMB segment, including driving forward the Small Business Support proposition. The role brings together content, demand generation, and go to market activity to create leads, new contacts, opportunities, and revenue that contribute to sales targets.


The individual in this role will help plan and deliver a coherent SMB marketing plan spanning direct, digital, social and customer Marketing. The role also supports the Segment Marketing Manager in developing, amplifying and activating the Small Business Support proposition.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the strategy and execution of the SMB marketing plan across direct, digital, social, and customer marketing.
  • Develop high-quality marketing assets (blogs, guides, case studies, social posts, email content) aligned to the SMB Support proposition to cement BT as the SMB provider of choice
  • Brief, manage and optimise content and campaign materials with agencies and internal creative teams.
  • Coordinate partnership led activity including joint content, events and communications that enhance BT’s credibility in the SMB market.
  • Lead the creation of new case studies and customer use cases for SMB propositions.
  • Deliver integrated marketing campaigns that generate MQLs, new contacts and revenue, with clear tracking and reporting.
  • Improve conversion of MQLs to sales pipeline by working closely with the CVM team.
  • Work with Commercial, Product and Proposition teams to support offer launches and activation plans.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to ensure sales teams have the content, insights and tools to effectively activate campaigns and follow up leads.
  • Partner with digital demand teams to understand trading levers and apply them to optimise campaign performance.
  • Report regularly to the Segment Manager on progress, performance and ROI.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Proven experience in B2B marketing
  • Strong understanding of the marketing mix, with experience in content development, digital execution, and campaign measurement.
  • Ability to translate customer insight into actionable messaging and growth opportunities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills across internal and external teams.
  • Confident in contributing new ideas to segment plans.
  • Highly organised, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at pace.
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable evaluating performance and identifying optimisations
  • Customer centric, with experience creating compelling activity that attracts and retain SMB customers.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on delivery.
  • Experience measuring program effectiveness and ROI
