Why this job matters
This role is responsible for delivering end-to-end ownership and management of large & complex bid responses enabling Commercial and Sales to win profitable and sustainable business. This role has overall accountability for ensuring BT governance is adhered to and risk is managed. As well as driving a great sales experience, this role delivers improved customer experience and directly impacts on the success of the Sales functions within BT Business.
What you’ll be doing
- Own and drive the sales and account strategy for the Welsh Public Sector, championing the origination, qualification, and conversion of high-value opportunities across BT’s portfolio to deliver sustainable growth and contract retention.
- Lead and shape executive-level customer relationships across complex public sector hierarchies, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and ensuring BT is positioned as a long-term strategic partner.
- Provide end-to-end leadership of large, complex bids and re-procurements, ensuring robust governance, risk management, and the delivery of compelling, compliant, and competitive commercial responses.
- Develop deep market and sector insight within the Welsh Public Sector, including policy drivers, transformation roadmaps, and competitive dynamics, and embed this insight into account strategies and development plans.
- Set and lead commercial strategy for key accounts, identifying value-creating opportunities, building strong business cases, and aligning internal teams to deliver profitable and sustainable outcomes.
- Collaborate across BT leadership, sales, and delivery teams to drive innovation, improve customer experience, and ensure consistent execution against agreed account and growth strategies.
- Continuously improve business development capability and ways of working, mentoring and influencing sales and delivery colleagues while driving process improvements that strengthen bid quality, customer outcomes, and win rates.
