About the Program

BT Business is excited to introduce its second Career Returners program – Restart – in partnership with Women Returners. We support experienced professionals of all genders returning to work after a career break of 18 months or more. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be able to start in September 2024.

We currently have the following vacancies within our Sales function:

  • Inside Sales (Desk)
  • Account Management
  • Sales Specialist


These are great jobs for individuals who have a sales background selling B2B, whether that be in Desk Sales, Account Management, or selling specific products such as mobile, future voice & UC, and IT & Networking. Relevant industry experience within the telecoms sector is desirable. Inside Sales will be a desk-based role in our Birmingham or Bristol strategic locations, whereas Account Managers and Sales Specialists will be aligned to on of our a strategic locations (London, Birmingham, Bristol or Manchester), but be expected to spend the majority of their time in the field with their clients/customers. What you’ll be doing

  • Manage, deliver, and exceed all sales targets based on revenue generation and customer satisfaction for a defined base of customers
  • Develop successful, sustainable, and profitable long-term relationships with customers, owning key relationships and the customer contact strategy
  • Develop and maintain an accurate forecast and qualified /robust pipeline
  • Use extensive knowledge of BT Products and services to deliver commercially sound complex customer solutions/ managed services whilst maintaining a positive experience for customers
  • Maintain an in depth level of market knowledge on leading and emerging technologies, using this to influence both customers and internal stakeholders

What Skills You'll Need

  • Ability to grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
  • Develop effective relationships with customers and understand their decision-making process.
  • Develop and execute account plans.
  • Strong analytical skills, including forecasting, pipeline management, and competitor analysis.
  • Subject matter expert in solutions such as Mobile, Future Voice & UC, IT & Networking (Sales Specialist role)

As part of the programme, we are looking for transferrable skills for our roles, so please base your application on this rather than meeting the full criteria.
