Job Description

Closing Date: 24th July

Locations: London preferably, others considered will be Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester - at least 3 days a week on site.

We’re recruiting for three roles within our BT Business Internal Communications team – two permanent positions and a 12-month fixed-term contract.

  • The permanent roles offer the opportunity to work across a range of internal communications activity – including leadership, people and business communications.
  • The 12-month FTC role (London-based) is focused on transformation communications, supporting how we engage colleagues through complex change and helping to bring key transformation programmes to life.

About the role

We’re looking for a talented internal communications professional to help bring the BT Business story to life - engaging, informing and inspiring our people at a pivotal moment for the business.

You’ll be at the heart of what’s happening, supporting leadership communications, people and culture moments, and key business activity - turning complex ideas into simple, compelling messages that land.

Working closely with leaders and teams across BT Business, you’ll shape impactful communications and create engaging content across a mix of channels - making sure what we say is clear, consistent and genuinely useful. And we’d love you to throw in some fun and creativity too!

You’ll get real variety and visibility – from planning and campaigns to hands-on delivery – with the chance to bring fresh ideas, try new approaches and help us keep raising the bar on how we communicate.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan and deliver internal communications activity across BT Business, taking ownership of projects and campaigns that support key priorities, people initiatives and business moments.
  • Create high-quality, engaging digital content across a range of channels and formats, including leadership briefings, campaigns, video and storytelling that bring our messages to life and drive understanding.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their priorities and audiences, using this insight to shape communications that are clear, relevant and effective.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Internal Communications team to ensure a joined-up approach across channels, sharing best practice and supporting delivery where needed.
  • Bring ideas and insight to how we communicate, testing new approaches and helping to strengthen engagement, effectiveness and impact over time.
  • Support the delivery of colleague communications, including key events and moments that matter, ensuring messaging is timely, consistent and aligned to wider business priorities.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Experience in internal communications, engagement or content roles within a fast-paced, complex environment. (For transformation-led role, experience in change communications is essential.)
  • Strong writing and content creation skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging digital-first content (including video, visual or social formats) that brings messages to life.
  • Ability to turn complex or technical information into simple, meaningful communications that colleagues can easily understand and act on.
  • Confident working with stakeholders at different levels, building strong relationships and influencing in a constructive and collaborative way.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, take ownership of delivery and work at pace without compromising quality.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience supporting leadership communications, people initiatives or business transformation activity.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn – particularly around digital tools, channels and AI – and how they can be used to improve communications.
  • Good understanding of digital channels and content formats, with hands-on experience of tools such as design or video platforms (e.g. Canva or similar).
  • Comfortable bringing ideas and constructive challenge, and able to work independently while staying aligned with wider team priorities.
