This role offers the opportunity to further develop your career while supporting cost management and construction procurement activities, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers the opportunity to move into (or build upon) a client-side position, working across a portfolio of projects with real ownership and visibility. You will play a key role in managing cost, procurement and tendering activities, while benefiting from structured support and development to broaden your commercial skillset.

Support will be provided towards achieving an appropriate professional qualification with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), including mentoring and structured development to support your progression.

What you’ll be doing

  • End-to-end commercial delivery of construction and infrastructure projects, from planning through to completion, across a portfolio of capital programmes.
  • Manage full tendering and procurement processes, including strategy development, supplier engagement, evaluation, recommendation, and contract award, ensuring alignment to programme objectives.
  • Provide robust cost and financial management, covering budgeting, cost planning, forecasting, cashflow management, reporting, and final account close-out.
  • Administer contracts and manage commercial interfaces with suppliers and partners, including change control, variations, performance monitoring, and dispute avoidance.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities through proactive risk management, governance frameworks, and value optimisation.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal teams and the supply chain, providing clear commercial insight and influencing successful outcomes.
  • Ensure commercial governance, compliance, and continuous improvement across procurement and commercial processes, enhancing consistency, efficiency, and overall delivery performance.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Proactive approach with a strong willingness to learn and develop within the construction industry.
  • Analytical mindset with an interest in contracts, commercial processes, and construction supply chains.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple competing tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience in quantity surveying or cost management within construction environments, with strong commercial awareness and cost control capability.
  • Ability to manage end-to-end tendering processes and support procurement activities across project portfolios.
