About the role

The team is accountable for delivering against category strategy and act as the business partner to key stakeholders and suppliers. The team is responsible for setting the agenda for strategic sourcing and drive innovation opportunities to constantly manage spend and realise more value for BT.

The Manager is responsible for driving and delivering the procurement plan and activities for Business CFU supporting B2B Corporate and Public Sector Customer accounts. This role develops and implements procurement frameworks, policies and procedures. This role holds strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement competency and continuous value delivery.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing specific Corporate and UK public sector accounts (including Large Banks, Large Manufacturing corporations, Secure Major and Central Government Customers. Developing and implementing procurement frameworks and procedures.
  • Act as Procurement workstream lead when BT is bidding for key UK customer contracts. The procurement lead would be responsible for managing the suppliers for that bid and project managing activity to support submission and contract award and mobilisation. This will include managing contract drafting and customer flow downs.
  • Working with BT business stakeholders to identify and deliver key savings opportunities, efficiencies, compliance, and improved ways of working.
  • Building and maintaining category expertise, apply best practices around sourcing approach, supplier selection, total cost of ownership and negotiation tactics
  • Identify business improvements leveraging the commercial, design and process to minimise the Total Cost of Ownership
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers and negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements utilising the latest contracting tools

Essential Skills / Experience

  • We’re looking for someone that’s results orientated, ambitious, and passionate.
  • Contract drafting and negotiation of contract terms experience. Understanding of flow-down terms
  • Comfortable and adept with the latest digital sourcing tools and a keen promoter of the latest procurement technologies and processes.
  • Ability to manage complex, strategic and commercial requirements between BT and Suppliers, deliver projects and results on time and in full
  • Experience in business partnering and supplier relationship management
  • Demonstrates strong continuous improvement skills that exceed customer expectations

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Reside in the UK to perform the role and be UK National and be able to evidence last 5 UK residence due to security clearance requirements as part of the role.
