What you’ll be doing

You’ll join our recently re-organised Internal Audit team heading technology and change audit to develop and deliver an updated Internal Audit strategy supporting our data and digitisation journey across the Group, including Syndicate 2987 and Ki Syndicate.

As a commercially astute technology and change Internal Audit professional with extensive experience and a proven track record of delivering results in a Financial Services environment. and expertise within the technology audit space, you’ll be tasked to develop, implement, and deliver the Information Technology and Change Internal Audit plan, while helping to drive digital transformation within Brit Internal Audit.

Your superb communication skills and strong mindset will come in really useful when collaborating with key stakeholders to identify key risks, assess how we are managing these risks and identify solutions that will both improve the business and the overall effectiveness of control. You’ll have the opportunity to be a genuine catalyst for change across the Brit Group.

The day to day
As part of our Internal Audit Leadership team you’ll have full accountability for end to end delivery of technology and change internal audit deliverables. Performing and managing Internal Audits and other reviews as required by the relevant Audit Committee, working with the business and having regular communication with Executive Committee & Senior Technology stakeholders to ensure that the key risks in each business unit/function are understood, the key developments and change projects are monitored, audit actions are addressed in a timely and effective way.

You’ll ensure that all audits undertaken are properly planned in accordance with the Internal Audit Procedures, including creation of planning memorandums and risk and control matrices, as well as any other key planning documentation required. Additionally, you’ll ensure audit fieldwork is conducted appropriately and in line with standards as defined in the Internal Audit Procedures, with results documented in the risk and control matrix.

A key part of your role will be to negotiate acceptance of findings and recommendations with Management, reviewing Internal Audit reports to ensure a professional standard and that these are in the agreed format. Acting as a subject matter expert on all aspects of technology and change assurance, providing oversight, leadership, and management of these areas on the Brit Group Internal Audit Plan.

You’ll take responsibility for the direction, practices and performance of staff within the Internal Audit team including mentoring staff and reviewing work performed by team members to ensure that it is of an appropriate standard.
