About the role

BMT Canada is recruiting for a S1000D Specialist to join our Program Services team as a Program Services Consultant. Our team helps to deliver complex programs through the integration of program management, systems engineering, and change management practices. We are seeking a S1000D specialist to join our team to enhance our existing capabilities. This role will support our project deployment as required to build up client environments to enable their programs to succeed. As a consultant, you will work as a trusted member of our client teams to help them define and fulfill their requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your existing skills to explore the world of consultancy.

With BMT, you will develop our Data Management practices both with our customers, and within our BMT operational environment. The successful candidate will build their own role within a small core of consultants already in place. You will leverage your unique talents into the offerings of our business. Your strong people skills, and your ability to support an environment for the creation of plans and ideas, will contribute to and enhance the growth, competitiveness and standing of the team.

As the succesful candidate, you will be expected to:

• Maintain a current knowledge in the field of S1000D specification, IETMs and IETPs specifications, standards, best practices, and available solutions;
• Maintain a current knowledge in the DND’s technical data policies;
• Operate modern tools for digital documentation such as Extensible Markup Language (XML) and object oriented data bases; and
• Advise on IETM, IETP, XML, logistics, materiel maintenance databases and related matters;

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible team members, who possess the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

• 5 years eperience using electronic publishing systems
• Familiar with S1000D specifications
• Knowledge of S1000D Technical Publications and Publishing Softwares
• Familiar with languages such XML, HTML, XSLT, Javascript,
• Fluent in English, French an asset
• Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering Technology, Business or Related Field
• 2+ years experience in the application of S1000D
• Proficient knowledge of S1000D Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals publishing standard. Proficient knowledge of military and commercial standards for IETMs, ILS, Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Training, Maintenance Management
• Proficient knowledge of computer techniques and models for analysis, simulation or information systems and documentation
• Knowledge of the Canadian Defense/Navy environment an asset
• All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance
