Salary : 117,000 to 140,000 CAD/year
Duties:
- Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of electrical generation and distribution networks, electrical machinery and components and electronic communications, instrumentation and control systems, equipment, and components;
- Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for electrical and electronic systems and equipment;
- Design electrical and electronic circuits, components, systems and equipment;
- Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of electrical and electronic systems and equipment;
- Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems and equipment;
- Investigate electrical or electronic failures;
- Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for construction or maintenance;
- Supervise technicians, technologists, programmers, analysts, and other engineers;
- Demonstrate their ability to lead program support activities, and elaborate upon experiences helping clients work through complex program issues;
- Demonstrate their ability to formulate plans and strategies, articulate them to others, and help others work through the details toward implementation;
- Take the initiative to implement the direction, strategy, and policies of the business;
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity and accountability; and
- Work within client environments.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering
- Eligible for licensing by a provincial or territorial association to practice as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.);
- Level II (Secret) Security Clearance or the ability to obtain;
- Demonstrated experience in the strategic leadership and planning of an appropriate related major engineering project;
- Demonstrated experience in the complex change management for a major task;
· Demonstrated experience in Team leadership and development, resource planning, and performance management;
- Experience working within large complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders, shifting priorities, and significant budgets, preferably within a defense industry;
- Experience with process improvement initiatives, either for a standardized certification body such as CMMI, or an internal process initiative involving changing the manner of work to achieve a new management objective; and
- Experience managing projects, programs, accounts, and clients.
