About the role

This position is for a Project Manager who will use the experience of his/her engineering discipline to work as part of a team supporting specification, design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation of monitoring systems in the laboratory and aboard offshore oil platforms and ships. This position sometimes requires installation and site acceptance testing of supplied systems offshore, at construction sites, or in shipyards worldwide, and will be closely involved in the completion of client projects as assigned.

Duties / Responsibilities:

The Project Manager duties will include, but may not be limited to:

· Execute project work plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;

· Manage day-to-day operational aspects of an assigned project, including vendors;

· Interface with the electrical, mechanical and software engineers assigned to the project as needed;

· Effectively apply and enforce project standards;

· Design and develop specialized data acquisition systems and sensor packages, as needed for the project, utilizing schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout software;

· Minimize exposure and risks on projects, keeping the Programmes Manager updated on a regular basis;

· Resolve and/or escalate issues as needed to the Programmes Manager;

· Understand how to communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully, interface with the client(s) in person, in meetings, or electronically, as may be necessary; and

· Effectively convey discussions in both written and verbal formats.

· Represent the technical interface between customer, BMT project team and supporting BMT functional departments;

· Take ownership of system requirements and prepare work packages in conjunction with Functional Managers to complete the required tasks and activities necessary to deliver systems on time, within budget and to the required standards;

· Assist the Engineering team with identification of the billable materials needed for a project.

· Support the technical aspect of proposal writing efforts such as identifying material, updating cost and labor estimates.

· Produce and review project documentation: specifications, electrical schematics, drawings, design reports, manuals, and test reports;

· Ensure project documents are complete and accurate (reviewing for technical details and accuracy).

· May oversee technicians and other engineers in the design, fabrication, and testing of environmental monitoring systems and associated sub-components;

· May lead equipment installation teams in foreign shipyards and offshore oil platforms;

Location & Flexibility:

In terms of location, we have office in Houston, TX. This is a hybrid role but at times requires to be in the office. Please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings will be required. This role is a full-time position.

About you

Education and Experience:

Required:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or other related Engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

· 5 years’ experience with increasing responsibility on work or projects in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field

Desired:

· Background in Electro/Mechanical project delivery

Skills / Abilities / Knowledge:

Required:

· Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project

· Able to evaluate one's own strengths and weaknesses and act upon it

· Demonstrate through their behavior, actions that are firmly based on strong financial and commercial principles

· Be responsible and flexible in meeting customer expectations either by oneself or by managing others in the team to do so

· Actively seeking customer feedback and respond to it in a positive way

· Advocate Health Safety and Wellbeing initiatives and ensure compliance to global policies

Desired:

· Familiarity with Office 365 – Teams, SharePoint etc.
