What is the Graduate Programme?

As a BMT graduate, you will be part of an exciting 2-year development programme that will equip you with the knowledge, skills and experience that you will need to propel your career to the next level. You will be paired with a mentor who will support your development within BMT and you will receive a tailored training programme.

BMT partner, and have close relationships with, many of the professional institutions so if Chartership is a route that you are interested in, we will support you by paying the membership fees for your chosen institution and you will receive a chartership mentor who will help support you with your application.

About the role

Due to the current and future workload requirements within BMT, we are looking for Graduates to join our specialists within our Environmental Services Team who are based in various locations throughout the UK.

As a Graduate within the Environmental Services Team, you will be involved with a wide variety of projects across a range of market sectors. You will work alongside our consultants and engineers, providing environmental management services to our clients, helping identify solutions for a wide range of environmental challenges. You will be supporting tasks such as environmental impact assessments, environmental management planning and reporting, flood and coastal risk assessments, environmental legislation compliance reviews, and environmental permit application submissions. You can expect to receive training and guidance from our experienced employees, and we will support you to start the journey to achieve Chartered status within your technical profession.

About you

Do you have the following?

• A desire to make a difference in your chosen field.
• A degree in a relevant field such as environment, sustainability, marine biology, geography or engineering.
• An interest to develop your skills to align with our services and a desire to deliver within our various markets.
• Dedication to providing first-class service to our clients and the determination to further your career and gain Chartered status.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent team building skills.
• An ability to work with a flexible and hybrid team.
• Although not essential, some experience of numerical/statistical analysis and tools (e.g. MS Excel and QGIS) would be beneficial.
• Flexibility and mobility to be able to work across BMT offices and customer sites throughout the UK.
