Business Development Manager – Asset Monitoring and Climate Change

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Asset Monitoring and Climate Solutions leads the implementation of the company strategic plan across the Infrastructure, Energy, Resources, Coastal and Environment industries in the Region. Reporting into the Regional Sales Director and working with the Global Business Development Director, the individual will be required to build a pipeline of high-quality opportunities to meet our ambitious growth targets. Working closely with the BD & Sales teams as well as Operating Units, the role will be responsible for winning new work and contributing to regional plans to position and grow BMT’s capability and technology within their region.

This is an important leadership position in BMT. The BDM will lead cross functional teams in the pursuit of opportunities to best position BMT to meet our growth targets in new markets. An intimate understanding of customer buyer behaviours in the region will ensure that that we are able to harness BMTs intellectual property for sustained growth, by providing detailed feedback to our product and delivery teams for capability improvements and act as the voice of the customer.

The BDM will represent the values and behaviour required of a senior leader. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams in the pursuit of BMT wide growth plans are key to the success of this role. This role will require someone with a combination of technical and softer skills – how you do things is as important as what you do. The success in this role demands a strong strategic and analytical orientation coupled with exceptional communication skills as well as a highly developed collaborative nature.

In addition to these duties, the post holder may be required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

About you

· Experience in strategic business development across the Environment, Infrastructure and Climate sectors within the Region that represent BMT’s core markets and future campaigns.

· Able to identify new business opportunities by analysing market trends, competitor's share, and customers’ procurement behaviours to build an accurate pipeline of high-quality opportunities which will underpin sustainable growth for BMT.

· Leading the capture of opportunities and providing guidance to other pursuits both within and outside the region,

· Engagement with senior Industry and Government stakeholders to better understand trends impacting markets within the region.

· Contribution to product development strategies based on intimate understanding of customer needs and procurement cycles.

· Participation and attendance at events, exhibitions and other activities to promote BMT.

· The individual must exemplify the values and behaviour required of a senior leader within our growing business. Authority, Accountability and Working Relationships

The role is responsible and accountable to:

· Regional Sales Director – Americas (Line Manager)

The role will support the Global Business Development Director (Asset Sustainment & Climate Solutions) who will provide functional management and guidance to ensure alignment with relevant global campaigns and strategy.

Required to forge effective working relationships with:

· The Future Business Lead Team and members of the Future Business Community across BMT

· Regional Future Business Team

· Regional Business Directors and Operating Unit MDs/Presidents

· Regional Marketing Manager

· Corporate Campaign leads

Location & Flexibility

· TBC Hours per week depending on Jurisdiction

· Located within one of BMT’s Regional Offices TBC – home working supported

· Travel to BMT offices on occasion, which may be overseas, as and when required.
