Job Description
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Partnerships Manager and lead our fundraising from the pharmaceutical industry. We’re looking for someone who can build relationships, understand the priorities and motivations of the pharma industry, and recognise opportunities for collaboration. You’ll manage and grow our relationships with the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring we maximise year-on-year income, while also developing opportunities for transformational funding. Either fundraising experience or an existing understanding of pharma is needed, but you don’t need both.

Key Responsibilities
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead on all pharma partnerships, being responsible for achieving annual income targets in the region of £500k
- Build close relationships with key stakeholders at our pharma partners
- Develop robust partnership plans and manage the delivery of those plans
- Work with teams internally to develop compelling proposals, opportunities for collaboration, project updates and stewardship moments
- Deliver high quality written proposals and pitches
- Ensure good working relationships between pharma partners and members of the research, support services, and policy, campaigns & engagement team
- Work closely with the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop compelling 7-figure funding asks for our largest pharma partners
General Responsibilities:
- Where necessary, support in the delivery of other key projects and relationships across the Partnerships & Philanthropy team
- Keep abreast of fundraising trends, especially within high value and corporate partnerships
- Stay informed of developments within blood cancer research and the needs of people affected by blood cancer
- Keep accurate records on our database

- Attend and assist at Blood Cancer UK events and activities as required (NB this involves evening and weekend work)

- Do any other reasonable things your manager needs you to do
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- EITHER experience of high value fundraising
- OR experience of working closely with or within the pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent relationship building skills, both internally and externally
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A proactive and flexible approach, able to recognise opportunities and capitalise on them
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
