Job Description

We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

The Content Marketing Associate is a key contributor responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing content across digital platforms and omnichannel campaigns that support surgeon education and commercial growth across BD's GalaFLEX portfolio.

This position sits within the Surgery Business Unit, in the Advanced Repair & Reconstruction (AR&R) platform, on the AR&R Digital Marketing team. Working closely with the Manager, Content Marketing, this associate will bring content strategies to life through hands-on content creation, website updates, social media support, and operational coordination across cross-functional partners.

Within a regulated healthcare environment, this role offers meaningful exposure to surgeon education, SEO, omnichannel campaigns, and MLR-governed workflows, along with visibility into cross-functional collaboration and the full content development lifecycle.

This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career content marketer eager to build a strong foundation in healthcare marketing while contributing to a high-visibility, high-impact business area within one of the world's leading MedTech companies

Job Responsibilities:

Content Creation

  • Develop polished, audience-centered content for the premium aesthetics market, translating complex clinical and product information into clear, compelling narratives that reflect the expectations of discerning plastic surgeons.
  • Apply content design principles, including messaging hierarchy, layout, and readability, to organize complex or information-dense content into clear, intuitive, and engaging customer experiences.
  • Support the development of creative briefs, content outlines, and assets, including reviewing and maintaining templates and partnering with designers to ensure cohesive, consistent, and on-brand execution.
  • Help implement SEO and AI-era content best practices (e.g., keyword updates, on page optimization, schema/content tagging, internal linking) and utilize tools such as Semrush to identify opportunities.
  • Stay current on evolving content marketing trends and agency best practices (e.g., channel/platform updates, content formats, measurement approaches) and proactively recommend improvements to workflows and output.

Social Media & Community Engagement

  • Manage the social content calendar, create and schedule posts, and monitor comments, questions, and community interactions for GalaFLEX social channels in alignment with governance guidelines.
  • Partner with analytics to gather performance data, surface insights, and support reporting to grow social reach and engagement.
  • Digital Platform Management & MarTech Enablement
  • Maintain and update content within CMS platforms (e.g., AEM) following established governance, accessibility, and editorial standards.
  • Support ongoing updates to galaflex.bd.com, including page builds, content refreshes, metadata updates, QA, and post‑launch monitoring.
  • Build working knowledge and day-to-day operational proficiency in BD’s MarTech stack: Marketo, ClickUp, Optimizely, Knack, AME, and Figma, to help run and scale content marketing execution.

Project Coordination & Operations

  • Support execution of integrated campaigns by coordinating timelines, deliverables, and content needs across teams, managing project management tools to ensure timelines are met.
  • Collaborate with product marketing, digital, UX, MLR, PR, legal/regulatory, and agency partners to keep content moving through drafting, review, approvals, and launch.
  • Assist in preparing content for MLR (medical, legal, and regulatory) submission and governing approval workflows; track status, versioning, and required documentation.
  • Maintain organized content libraries, version control, and documentation, ensuring all content adheres to brand, editorial, accessibility, and compliance standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing, or related roles.
  • Applicants should submit a portfolio or links to two to three relevant work samples demonstrating strong writing, content creation, brand storytelling, and, where applicable, an understanding of content design and messaging hierarchy.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills, with the ability to produce sophisticated, engaging content for premium or luxury markets.
  • Curiosity and a learner mindset, motivated to stay at the forefront of content marketing and agency best practices (content formats, channel/platform changes, measurement, and AI-enabled workflows).
  • Ability to balance premium brand expression with clear, useful information, avoiding content that feels overly promotional, generic, or mass-market.
  • Basic understanding of digital content, SEO, and social media best practices; ability to apply guidance to improve discoverability and performance.
  • Highly organized with strong project management fundamentals; able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment.
  • Adaptable and nimble—comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and evolving business needs while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability: proactively identifies what is needed, asks the right questions, and follows through to learn the BD way of marketing and get work over the finish line.

At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry. For most roles, we require a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work-life balance. Remote or field-based positions will have different workplace arrangements which will be indicated in the job posting.

For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company’s receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In some locations, testing for COVID-19 may be available and/or required. Consistent with BD’s Workplace Accommodations Policy, requests for accommodation will be considered pursuant to applicable law.
