Apply for an Engineering Work Experience Placement at our Maritime and Land Defence Solutions, Washington site. Get real-world experience working as a BAE Systems engineer, plus insights into our business and cutting-edge projects.

This work experience placement is offered within the BAE Systems Maritime and Land Defence Solutions business unit. From our Munitions site in Washington, we are proud to support the Armed Forces in global operations. BAE Systems Maritime and Land Defence solutions designs, manufactures and supports combat vehicles, precision munitions, artillery systems and missile launchers.

During your placement you’ll:

Actively participate in practical workshop sessions, led by our experienced colleagues and supported by our current Apprentices
Hear about the work we do from engineers and other colleagues from across the business
contribute to planning and delivery of a group presentation project, on a subject relevant to our work at BAE Systems
Take part in ice-breaking and team building activities
Explore our world-leading products through facility tours Learn about our early careers programmes for school and college leavers

On successful completion of the placement, you’ll also gain a Silver Industrial Cadets Award.

This programme is for those 14 – 16 and in Year 10 or 11
