Role description

Human Factors (HF) Engineers support the end-to-end design and development of our systems and services through the application of scientific knowledge and experience. Our aim is to optimise the interaction between the system and the end users enabling them to achieve their mission effectively and efficiently. You’ll be part of our team of HF Engineers working across a variety of crewed and un-crewed platforms gathering assessment data, supporting the analysis and helping to document the results. You’ll also work with engineers from other areas of the business and gain a broad understanding of challenges of complex integrated air systems.

Core duties

• Work within a team of Human Factors Practitioners to understand how the disciplines of science, psychology and engineering combine to optimise the design of products.
• Develop a working knowledge of human factors processes, tools and techniques.
• Support research & development activities through literature reviews, experiments, data analysis and documentation.
• Enhance technical communication skills – verbal and written.
• Support the wider human factors discipline, taking opportunities to collaborate and network across all sectors.

Qualification requirements

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Human Factors, Ergonomics, Engineering Product Design, UX, Psychology or STEM subject.
