Role Description:

We have an exciting opportunity working primarily in support of the M113 Engineering Services Contract along with other TES (Technical Engineering Services) supported contracts. As the TES Mechanical Engineer, you will apply experience to design & develop solutions, and resolve engineering issues and problems for a range of engineering situations contributing to the sustainment of the M113AS4 Family of Vehicles, Collins Class Submarines, and other supported platforms.

Core Duties:

  • Provide technical input and support as a part of non-compliance, obsolescence, and test failure investigations
  • Provide technical input to and directly develop updates to operating and maintenance procedures for the M113AS4 Family of Vehicles
  • Produce &/or review various artefacts to facilitate the sustainment of the M113AS4 Family of Vehicles, Collins Class Submarines, and other products in the TES portfolio
  • Undertake investigation and resolution of Safety, Product Safety or Environmental Safety issues in relation to products and processes as directed
  • Resolve a range of engineering issues and problems, compile technical reports and accompanying presentations
  • Collaborate with Detail Designers, Field Service Representatives, and other Engineers
  • Apply a breadth of knowledge, skills and experience of engineering and company approaches, techniques and governance
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to project teams in support of the range of sustainment activities undertaken within the TES Business Unit
  • Design, source and implement product specific tooling, equipment and processes used to manufacture, maintain, repair and test company deliverables
  • Design, develop, document, and monitor processes and process improvements to support the continuous improvement of TES
  • Provide engineering support to the TES team as directed by the TES Mechanical Engineering Team Lead

KEY CRITERIA:

  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience as a professional engineer
  • Experience undertaking Root Cause Analyses and supporting product sustainment needs, preparing reports, developing mechanical designs, participation in design and artefact reviews, undertaking typical engineering analyses and implementation of solutions, their integration, validation and qualification testing
  • Good computer literacy

The M113 Team

M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers for the Australian Army have been upgraded so the vehicles can be operated autonomously. Autonomous technology will assist soldiers to respond in an accelerating warfare environment.
