Job Title: Stress Engineer – Statics
Location: Prestwick. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £46,426 – £52,676 dependent upon skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Defining and carrying out engineering analysis tasks allocated to you and to your team members
- Mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues to build up the team’s knowledge, skill and experience across the Structures discipline
- Ensuring effective interactions between teammates, suppliers, customers and others, to develop efficient and effective working practices, and resolving issues as they arise to maintain this effectiveness
- Carrying out analysis of structure using finite element analysis, traditional hand-calculations and calculations using a variety of software applications, to demonstrate that the structural design meets relevant certification and project requirements
- Assessing the static strength of modifications and repairs to in-service aircraft
Your skills and experiences:
- Degree or equivalent proven experience in an engineering discipline
- Stress analysis of airframe structure
- Finite Element Analysis of airframe structure experience is desirable
- Experience of working with and leading small teams

The Advanced Aerostructures Team:
As a Stress Engineer within that team you will need to have a thorough knowledge of Aircraft Structural Analysis covering metallic and composites, using a range of analysis techniques from traditional hand calculations through to computational techniques such as Finite Element Analysis.
The role will allow you to demonstrate and further develop your technical skills but also help develop the knowledge of your team members. You will be expected to liaise with customers to discuss technical outcomes and to develop positive relationships with your less experienced team members and both internal and external customers.
