
Job Description
The
Supervisor will be responsible for the acceptance, storage, release and
disposal of tools into and out of central storage area and the delivery of
inventory/asset demands including generation, receipt, validation,
prioritisation, solution, process and progression of demand through the system
to achieve contractual requirements. This includes all tooling and equipment
necessary. Coordinate the resolution of issues and priority parts including
alternative parts/solutions via integrated functional solutions. Uses
information and applies a level of operational analysis to aid demand
management and achieve contractual requirements.
Core Activities:
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate identification, recording and
monitoring of tooling/equipment held in the tool store. This will include the
registration, following acceptance and inspection, of each tool by allocation
of a unique serial/identification number. - Ensure that tooling/equipment being used is tracked and recorded
including a statement of condition, labelling and any other appropriate
documentation for each item. Manage tool tallies or labels as part of tool
control. - Check incoming deliveries against order/delivery documentation,
ensuring that all items are accompanied with supporting certification and
maintenance/operation documentation as appropriate. Check all packaging is fit
for purpose with no damage to incoming items. - Responsible for ensuring timely inspection, servicing
and calibration of appropriate tools and equipment. - Ensure that surplus or redundant tooling/equipment is
removed from maintenance environment and quarantined or disposed. The tracking
system must then be updated as necessary to reflect the action taken. Shall
place an unserviceable tool tally whenever an unserviceable tool has been
discovered and removed from the tool store. - Identify any capability or capacity issues and work with the
Demand Management Specialist to ensure resolution where practical, or
escalation, as appropriate. - Interface with platform maintenance & upgrade operations to
ensure that appropriate and timely demands are placed on, and responded to by the supply chain. Including the presentation of material supplied to maintenance in appropriate formats and timescales. The management of calibrated items through the timely return to industry and return serviceable of assets ensuring testing/tooling capability is not compromised.
Key Accountabilities:
- Performance
indicators – Provide effective Tool Control
and Demand Management activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting any
impact on Continuing Airworthiness, operational/process performance. Understand
how individual actions contribute to overall delivery performance. - Completion of
activities – Ensure all Tools are accounted
for at all times and are in a Servicable Condition and Demand Management
activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are
maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compile required reporting,
identify any issues and escalate as appropriate. - Procedure/standards – Comply with the QEAF CAME, its associated procedures and
standards, and any other company procedures and
standards, as applicable. Identify and propose changes, as required. - Safety
Management System – Ensure Human Factors and Error
Management philosophies are applied to all Demand Management activities.
Understand the risks associated with Demand Management and the means by which
they are mitigated and managed. - Management
System Assurance – Ensure Demand Management are
compliant with the QEAF Governance and Assurance framework, including
supporting process confirmations and independent assurance audits. Support the
response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide
information into the relevant reviews. Support the implementation of identified improvements to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness.
Requirements
Qualifications/Functional
Knowledge:
- This
person would be seen as competent in Supply Chain operations
working as a joint team and be able to define the processes, propose
improvements and manage those improvements in the day to day running of the
operation. - Understands
the Regulatory Framework and its applicability to the Tool Stores and Demand
Management processes and activities. - Able to
build good relationships with Customers, Part 145 Organisation(s), Order Book
Management and the other key stakeholder’s personnel. - Have
operational knowledge and understanding of the platform contract(s), the
fleet’s performance and the business key performance metrics. - Requires a
basic functional awareness that will be developed over the life cycle of the
role. Continuous improvement, capability development and sustainment are also
an integral part of the role. - Requires
analysis and planning skills along with key relationship building and problem
solving skills, able to use appropriate IT systems. - Valid Driving
Licence - Institute of Supply
Chain Management Level 3 or its equivalent is desirable but not essential.
