Job Title: Social & Digital Media Advisor (Edgewing)
Location: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems Air site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. Due to the nature of this assignment, we envisage there will be a need for mostly on site working, however, flexible working arrangements may be possible – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Job Description:
As a Social and Digital Media Advisor, you will lead the development and execution of engaging digital strategies that support the communications objectives of the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). Working as part of Edgewing’s HQ-based Communications team, you will play a key role in enhancing the organisation’s online presence, driving audience engagement, and creating high-quality, impactful content across a range of digital platforms.
Core duties:
- Develop and implement social media and digital content strategies for the company that align with both GCAP programme and the company’s objectives and performance KPIs, eg. Reach, engagement, audience growth
- Prepare and distribute regular content calendars across all social media channels, with content optimised for each channel, including the use of content management and scheduling tools e.g. Hootsuite
- Create, script, shoot, and edit high-quality short-form and long-form content across platforms and digital channels
- Monitor and report on performance and engagement metrics across all social media and digital channels, offering best practices and recommendations for growth.
- Work closely with government and industry partners to co-ordinate social content around major programme announcements and key events
- Support the development of the company’s website and audience growth
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated success in growing social media channels, supported by portfolio or case studies.
- Validated experience in social media management, content creation, and digital strategy.
- Good understanding of social media platforms, digital trends, and analytics tools.
- Search Engine Optimisation knowledge and experience/ability to apply SEO knowledge and best practices to social media content
- Demonstrable experience working in business-to-business (B2B) and/or business-to-government (B2G) environments
