About the OPPORTUNITY –
The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) will define the overall technical objectives of the project, co-ordinate all activities associated with BAE Systems and engineering governance (including tailoring of process as applicable to projects) for assigned projects and ensure adequate technical review of all deliverables produced within the Engineering Teams prior to delivery.
We are building something extraordinary in the High Frequency (HF) technology space and are looking for an experience Project Engineering Manager (PEM) to join us on this journey. This is your chance to be part of a pioneering project that pushes the boundaries of communications technology.
This role will be based in either SA – Adelaide or VIC – Melbourne.
This role will see you:
- Be accountable for the overall engineering effort within the assigned project scope
- Ensure that the engineering outputs (i.e. products and services) are fit for purpose, meet requirements and delivered are in accordance with the Company product safety policy
- Identify and contribute process improvements and recommendations
- Provide engineering oversight, support, and governance to capability team members
- Provide engineering support to the PM around planning, scheduling and decision making
- Liaise with the HFS capability areas to ensure development and delivery of the engineering solutions
- Raise issues (capacity, capability and quality) to the HFS Engineering Manager for resolution as appropriate
- Manage and report on applicable project technical metrics to the PM and relevant stakeholders

About YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, CPEng ideal or eligibility to obtain
- Demonstrated experience working within a project environment, ideally within systems, integration, or hardware disciplines
- Strong communication skills to work closely with various key stakeholders both internal and external
- Experience in a leadership role within a diverse project team
- The ability to be proactive to seek information and be self-motivated to manage your own workload efficiently
- Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and changing schedules whilst ensuring stakeholders are informed and updated regularly
- NV1 Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
