Job Description

Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £44,000 dependant on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager in the successful delivery of all engineering aspects of the project
  • Creating an appropriate Project Engineering Management Plan under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager
  • Liaising with the relevant Site Engineering Authority (SEA) as required to ensure that all requirements are met
  • Advising Project Manager on engineering risk, devising a plan to mitigate this risk
  • Reviewing supplied designs from an engineering perspective
  • Providing robust engineering assurance of engineering solutions, designs, specifications and instructions and documentation that meet the safety, legal, quality and technical requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience ((electrical/ civil / mechanical / nuclear (or similar)
  • Experience of modern engineering techniques within complex, multifunctional organisations.
  • Experience in setting up Engineering project procedures and processes

Desirable:

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (registered with the Engineering Council)
  • Experience of working on complex infrastructure projects

The Infrastructure Project Engineering team:

Collaborating with the infrastructure function, the team supports the delivery of major infrastructure projects by providing engineering expertise and input across a diverse range of initiatives.
