About the OPPORTUNITY
Based at our Flinders Street or Osborne Shipyard Offices SA, As the Procurement Specialist, you will be working on Facilities and Infrastructure. You will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business, which, through effective relationship and performance management, maximise value and minimise risk.

Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively manage the performance of suppliers to achieve the requirements of the contract from a schedule, cost and quality perspective.
- Support the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business.
- Manage the procurement elements of bids and tenders ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms.
- Lead the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business.
- Lead supplier negotiations and finalise Supplier Agreements and purchase orders in accordance with set procedures and Delegations Of Authority.
- Identify and manage supplier risks and opportunities, including those of the suppliers’ supply chains.
- Proactively engage with key suppliers to enhance capability and efficiency.
About YOU
- Australian Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance (Essential).
- Demonstrated experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain.
- Proven ability to support the development of robust supplier sourcing strategies for the business.
- Degree qualified in an engineering or commercial discipline – desirable.
- Professional procurement qualification e.g. MCIPS – desirable.
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential.
In early 2024, the Australian Government selected BAE Systems and ASC Pty Ltd to build Australia’s new fleet of nuclear-powered submarines in a significant development in the AUKUS trilateral security pact between the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia. This program will focus on developing advanced submarine capabilities, integrating cutting-edge technology, and fostering international cooperation among Australia, the UK, and the US.
