Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Leader

Location: Barrow – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £47,271 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the management of Supply Chain commitments and strategic supplier relationships, driving collaborative behaviours to ensure reliable delivery, strong performance and alignment to programme objectives
  • Act as the customer within the Production Alliance for Dreadnought (DN) and SSN delivery, working with MOD, BAE and Rolls-Royce as one team to enable timely programme outcomes
  • Lead the coordination of Supply Chain activity in your area, ensuring supplier commitment delivers reliable performance while driving added value and managing risk
  • Own contract management for major subcontracts and procurement, overseeing commercial performance, cost and compliance to support programme delivery
  • Communicate Supply Chain performance to internal SH teams and MOD stakeholders, highlighting delivery status, risks and recovery actions, and deputising when required
  • Build strategic supplier relationships and drive Supply Chain Excellence across People, Process, Technology and Governance to ensure a resilient, future-ready function

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Supply Chain, Procurement or Project Management experience
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management and communication skills
  • Previously held line management responsibility
  • Willingness to travel when required

Desirable:

  • Professional qualifications (CIPS/PMDY) are desirable
  • Experience of working within aerospace, defence and/or MOD packages

The Alliance supply chain performance Team:

The Alliance Supply Chain Performance Team is a high-impact team of around 14 specialists operating at the heart of the Production Alliance, acting as the intelligent customer for Dreadnought (DN) and SSN submarine delivery. Working collaboratively across MOD, BAE and Rolls-Royce, the team ensures supply chain commitments translate into on-time performance, aligning partners as one integrated enterprise to support successful programme outcomes. With dedicated SSNA sourcing and performance expertise, you will work closely with internal SH teams and MOD stakeholders to provide oversight, challenge and support across the supply base—protecting key milestones and underpinning national defence capability. This role will offer great development opportunities and chances for career progression.

We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
