Job Description
Job Title: Principal Operations Engineer

Salary: from £42,215 – depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Conduct audits of electrical installations
- Support electrical investigations and fault analysis
- Provide engineering advice to a range of stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with electrical standards on site
- Assist in management of site electrical testing programmes
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Time-served electrician
- Proven experience in commercial/industrial electrical installations
- Relevant qualification: City & Guilds 2365 (or equivalent Level 3 electrical qualification); City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing); City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
Desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Conversant with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)

The Site Electrical Infrastructure team:
The Site Electrical Infrastructure team is a critical function within BAE Systems Submarines, responsible for ensuring that the physical estate, supporting infrastructure, and facilities are safe, compliant, operational, efficient, and capable of supporting both current and future submarine programmes. This includes maintaining and modernising the site, managing services, supporting projects, and ensuring all regulatory and safety standards are met.
Operating within a fast-paced and highly regulated nuclear environment, the team supports a wide range of works from minor upgrades to major, complex infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to integrate with multidisciplinary teams, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver critical site objectives. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
