About the OPPORTUNITY
We have new opportunities for Mechanical (Machinist) Apprentices to join our Defence Delivery and Advanced Manufacturing team based at our Edinburgh Parks site in South Australia.
We are now accepting applications for our 2027 Apprenticeship Program, commencing in February. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in advanced manufacturing, working on complex defence projects and developing skills that are highly valued across industry. As a Mechanical (Machinist) Apprentice, you will gain practical, hands-on experience while completing a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Machining).
You will work alongside experienced tradespeople, learning the techniques, technologies and processes required to manufacture and maintain precision components and equipment within a world-class manufacturing environment.
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity that will develop your machining, engineering and problem-solving skills to become a versatile Mechanical Machinist tradesperson. Working in a modern manufacturing environment as part of a supportive team, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating and working with modern machining equipment, manufacturing technologies and engineering systems.
- Participating in preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Using workshop machinery and tools to manufacture and repair components to specification.
- Interpreting technical drawings, work instructions and engineering documentation.
- Applying health, safety and environmental procedures in the workplace.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across people, processes and systems.
About YOU
