Role Description:

Reporting to the Material Planning Team Lead, you will be responsible for conducting material assessments, while ensuring Production have the right & required materials ahead of the schedule. Through effective communication the Material Planner will work with a range of supporting services to minimise any material risks/issues to the Production workforce.

This position is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Core Duties:

  • Support the delivery of material assessments at -12 weeks ahead of Production.
  • Act as the immediate PoC for any material issues across a designated ship/availability.
  • Work with Production to ensure all materials are captured & delivered in accordance with the schedule.
  • Liaising with the Detail Planning to highlight any opportunities or issues with material delivery & impact on the schedule.
  • Liaising with both up and downstream support services, to drive positive outcomes for the Production workforce.
  • Liaise with the supply chain functions, including procurement, supply chain, internal fabrication & warehousing to ensure availability & delivery of materials to production.
  • Act as the conduit between Production & supporting functions.
  • Support the development of the reporting capability to meet future project & stakeholder needs.

Essential Skills:

  • Work with a variety of stakeholders to continuously improve the management of the flow of materials to Production.
  • Ability to show initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Material stores / planning / or expediting experience in a Production environment – required.
  • Prior experience in the use of ERP systems – desirable.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint (preferred).
