Responsibilities
· To provide technical guidance and assistance in the design, repair and alterations of shipboard equipment on Minehunter class ships.
· To conduct engineering studies of shipboard main and auxiliary systems to assure required performance and function.
· Provide recommendations regarding operation, maintenance, repair and modification of equipment installed and provide/review proposed configuration changes and upgrade programmes.
· To utilize Vibration Analysis equipment and other techniques to monitor the health of Minehunter Class machinery and systems and to produce detailed results, reports and remedial actions.
· Conduct engineering studies of shipboard main and auxiliary systems including analysis of existing operational problems and modifications required for improving operating efficiency.
· Provide inspection and evaluation services regarding all mechanical systems.
· Operate Vibration Analysis equipment as required, collate, analyse and produce reports and identify possible remedial action to ensure maximum equipment availability.
· Establish and implement routine vibration condition monitoring to in order to identify developing defects in ships machinery and maintain hard computerized records.
· Provide guidance in the operation, maintenance and repair of shipboard systems.
· Responsible to the Superintendent Engineering for the health monitoring of ships machinery and equipment using vibration analysis and other techniques as necessary and be familiar with equipment of RSNF recognized standards for mechanical vibration in rotating machinery to support Al Jawf Class ships.
· Impart knowledge of position-related skills, duties and responsibilities in such a manner as to permit assimilation on the part of an RSNF trainee.
· Provide plans, design and specifications for equipment modifications and alterations.
· Comply with all RSNF procedures, directives and Codes of Practice.
Job Requirements:
· BSc (Marine Engineering) or equivalent professional qualification, or a combination of training and experience (e.g. in the Navy) which provides an equivalent educational standard.
· Specific Minehunter Class experience is highly desirable.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Marine Mechanical Engineering field and at least 3 years in the field of Vibration Analysis.
· Experience in areas of system design, installation, maintenance and refurbishment is required.
· Proficient in writing detailed technical engineering reports in English.
· Must be skilled in computer processing/typing duties.
