Role Description:

The Integration, Planning and Scheduling Manager is responsible for leading the central planning function for the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP). As the Integration, Planning and Scheduling Manager, you will provide leadership, governance and assurance of program-level planning activities, ensuring the integrity, integration and effective delivery of strategic schedule management, roadmap development, planning governance, reporting and schedule risk analysis activities. The role is accountable for providing timely planning insights, schedule performance analysis and integrated planning solutions that enable informed decision making and support successful program execution.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the Central Planning Team and provide functional leadership across program planning activities
• Be accountable for the performance, career development and wellbeing of their direct reports as well as providing wider leadership within the Project, Planning & Controls (PP&C) function
• Collaborate with the Planning & Controls Integration, Governance and Systems functions to ensure an integrated approach to planning and controls delivery
• Manage the development, integration and maintenance of strategic program schedules supporting program objectives and contractual deliverables
• Work closely with the Risk function to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to schedule risk management and forecasting
• Develop and implement planning automation and reporting solutions, including Tableau dashboards and digital reporting capabilities
• Provide planning reports, executive summaries and recommendations to support program decision making
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule quality, planning efficiency, reporting effectiveness and digital transformation.
• Develop strong working relationships with Program Management, Functional Managers, Control Account Managers, Project Controls and customer stakeholders
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Planning & Controls capability across the HCFP

About You

You will have:

• Demonstrated experience as a senior project manager/manager with significant experience in program integration, ideally gained withing a defence environment
• A detailed understanding of project management methodologies, risk management and continuous improvement techniques
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Exemplary communication skills with experience of using these skills at a senior level within the organisation
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and motivational skills with high self-motivation
• Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills with the ability to influence to achieve the team’s objectives and goals
• Demonstrated problem solving & risk management skills that provide effective and efficient solutions to meet business requirements
• Degree qualification in Project Management, Business, Commercial or Engineering preferable (high desirable)
• The ability to achieve Registered Project Management status with AIPM or equivalent institution is required.
• Eligibility to obtain Australian defence Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance and satisfy program ITAR requirements
