About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Team Lead to work on the world leading Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar Network.

You will be leading a team of ICT Engineers to analyse, design and implement defined technical scope of works within the JORN ICT Group to develop new projects and capabilities and to maintain and administer the existing system.

The role is onsite based in either Adelaide or Melbourne. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day supervision, leadership and guidance to your team
  • Manage the priorities and progress of system changes and activities to agreed timelines and schedules
  • Assist the ICT Manager with strategic planning and contribute to team strategy
  • Provide leadership and mentoring of one or more engineers
  • Coach team members in the achievement of their development objectives
  • Manage employee performance against defined objectives and behaviours
  • Recognise training needs, skills gaps and high performance of team members
  • Ensure all activities by your team comply with the engineering processes and procedures imposed by the relevant management plans.
  • Championing the use of ‘Best Practice’ processes and methods across the Program
  • Collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to support the execution of ICT effort on the Program

About YOU

  • Experience working in an ICT environment including, but not limited to Networking, Operating Systems and Applications
  • A background in ICT or Systems Engineering and a good understanding of engineering practices and methods
  • Experience leading and managing people
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodology
  • Able to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a NV1 clearance
  • Adaptable and collaborative behaviours
